Community Service

Community service may be available if you can not pay your fine and court costs in full. You must complete the necessary community service hours at a nonprofit organization within the City of Cedar Hill unless otherwise approved by the judiciary.

At any time you wish to pay the balance in full instead of completing the community service hours, you may do so.

To request Community Service, you must appear in-person at the court before the Judge. You will be required to complete Indigent paperwork. You will need to have with you:

  • Acceptable form of identification (Social security cards and selfies (pictures) are NOT valid forms of identification)
  • Personal documentation that will show the Judge your need for alternative payment methods such as community service.  These documents could include:
  1.  Government assistance paperwork
  2.  Banking information
  3. Monthly income and expense paperwork

Once you have completed the Request For Community Service below, you will receive an email from the court sent via DocuSign requiring you to fill out a financial statement before you will be set for court to speak with the judge. You can also download the Financial Statement below and fill it out electronically or print it out and email, fax, mail, or drop it off at the court and a court clerk will set your case for the next upcoming docket to speak with the Judge.

WARNING: IF YOUR CASE IS CURRENTLY IN WARRANT STATUS, YOUR WARRANT WILL NOT BE LIFTED UNTIL YOU APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGE ON YOUR SCHEDULED COURT APPEARANCE DATE.
