Virtual Hearings (E-Court)
The Cedar Hill Municipal Court offers an E-Court Appearance.

- You must already have been scheduled for a court setting where the notice shows the option to appear virtually or if you still need a court setting you will need to come to or call the court offices to be scheduled a specific date and time for an E-Court appearance.
- At your assigned date and time, click the link below and, if prompted, type in the Meeting ID Number.
- If you are not able to appear as ordered, you must contact the court before your scheduled court date to discuss your options.
- To use this option, you must have a webcam/built-in camera with sound and video on your device to appear at E-Court. You must also install the Zoom App on your device before the video conference begins if you do not already have the app.
- A defendant will be considered as Failed to Appear for their scheduled docket, if they have not checked in with the court clerk no later than 15 minutes from the start of their scheduled docket.

A device capable of accessing an internet connection (PC, MAC, Smart Phone, Tablet, etc.).
A fast and stable internet connection.
A webcam attached to your PC or a built-in camera on your device that will allow the Judge to see you during the video conference.
A microphone (built-in or attached) that will allow you to talk to the Judge. Your device must also have speakers (built-in or attached) so you can hear what the judge is saying to you.
A working email address to send and receive documents or images from the Court.
A reliable phone number to ensure successful future contact with the Court.
An acceptable form of identification (Social Security cards and “selfies” are NOT valid forms of identification).
Enter a Plea of NOT GUILTY and request a trial by judge or jury. Please note that Jury Trials will not be held via the eCourt appearance option and will require you to appear for trial in person at the Cedar Hill Municipal Court.
Your docket could last anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the volume of the docket, so please be patient.
Have your documents ready and available to review with the Prosecutor.
Be patient with unexpected technical difficulties or inactivity during the hearing as the court staff works through any challenges of a virtual court docket.
Failure to follow these guidelines will prompt the Court to remove the Defendant from the virtual courtroom until compliance is achieved.
• Proper clothing strictly enforced. Inappropriate attire will not be permitted. Dress code is the same as if you were appearing in-person in the courtroom.
• Avoid background noise- Ensure your environment is conducive to attend virtually.
• Avoid distractions- Turn off and put away any and all distractions so your full attention is given to the proceedings (i.e. texting, social media, driving)
• You’ll be discussing personal matters in open court so these proceedings are NOT to be recorded.
Proper respect for the Court process shall be adhered to at all times.
