NeighborWoods Free Trees

For a limited time each year NeighborWoods, a partnership between the City of Cedar Hill and Keep Cedar Hill Beautiful, offers one to two free trees for residents to plant in front lawns throughout town. The citywide effort is designed to improve the appearance of our neighborhoods and enhance the natural beauty of our community.

How to Qualify

Cedar Hill residents that currently have 1 tree in the front lawn are eligible to receive one additional tree. Residents with no trees in the front lawn may receive two trees. (Residents with two or more trees do not quality for a free tree at this time.) Applicants must agree to plant it in the front lawn of your residence, according to planting instructions, and to water it regularly for a minimum of 2 years.

The 5-gallon trees usually become available about mid-March. Residents may apply online to receive a free tree, and choose from a Southern Live Oak or Shumard Red Oak. Once your request is received the city will deliver the tree(s) to your home (while supplies last), with a packet of information that includes planting instructions.
