Why are there flags/markings near my yard or at my curb?
Colored flags and markings in the street typically indicate that a line locate has been done. Line locates are used to identify water lines or other utility lines prior to work being done in that area. These types of markings in a residential area are usually an indicator that a cable or phone company will be doing some work in that area. Anyone working in the City's ROW (right-of-way) is required to have a ROW Permit on file.

If you have any concerns regarding work being done near your residence please feel free to contact us so that we may address those concerns with the appropriate contractors.
