Investigators

The investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division are divided into units based upon the type of offenses that they investigate. Some of the units have multiple investigators and some only have one investigator based upon the volume of cases Investigators from other units provide assistance on cases that requires additional staff support. In addition to certified peace officers, a civilian investigative aid and an administrative assistant provide additional assistance in investigations.

  • Theft from Persons
  • Assaults (non family violence)

Burglary

The types of cases assigned to this unit include:

  • Burglary of Habitation
  • Burglary of Building / Business
  • Burglary of Vehicle
  • Burglary of Coin Operated Machine

Family Violence

The types of cases assigned to this unit include:

  • Family Violence Assault
  • Family Related Incidents
  • Sexual Assault
  • Injury to Child / Injury to Elderly
  • Child Abandonment / Endangerment
  • Protective Orders and Violation of Court Orders

Financial Crimes

The types of cases assigned to this unit include:

  • Theft of Checks
  • Credit Card Abuse
  • Scams / Pigeon Drops
  • Internal Theft
  • Forgery

Property Crimes

The types of cases assigned to this unit include:

  • Theft
  • Criminal Mischief / Vandalism
  • Stolen Motor Vehicles
  • Vehicle-Related Offenses
