The Public Service Officers (PSO) are non-sworn staff members who provide 24-hour assistance to customers at the police desk of the police station. The PSO is generally the first person that a customer interacts with when entering the lobby or calling the police station.
The PSOs provide vital law enforcement support by maintaining warrants, entering data, and monitoring the state and national law enforcement computer systems. Further, the PSOs provide assistance to the public by issuing alarm permits, accepting residential security watch applications, and providing vital information on city services to customers.
