Compliance and Dismissals

If you received a citation for an expired driver's license, expired registration, or failure to change address, you must appear at or contact the Municipal Court on or before the appearance date listed on your citation. You may present proof of correction of the defect, pay an administrative fine of $20 and the citation will be dismissed.

Note: The expired registration proof of renewal must include a 20% penalty (late fee) paid to the Department of Motor Vehicles when the registration was renewed. If the penalty is not paid, your citation is not eligible for dismissal.

If you received a citation for failure to display driver license, violation of driver license restriction A, only one license plate, or no registration (insignia issued before citation). You may present proof of correction of the defect on or before your appearance date; pay an administrative fine of $10 and the citation will be dismissed.

If you received a citation for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (FMFR), you must present proof of valid liability insurance on either the vehicle you were driving on the day and time of your offense or you must be listed on a policy. A court clerk will call to verify coverage and when verified, your citation will be dismissed. If insurance was obtained after your citation was received it will not be eligible for dismissal.

Please contact the court at 469-272-2930 or court@cedarhilltx.com on or before the date showing on your citation for more information regarding how to submit your proof for a compliance dismissal.
